Marcus-David L. Peters, a 24-year-old high school biology teacher and Virginia Commonwealth University alumnus, died on May 14, 2018, in Richmond, Virginia. Peters was experiencing a mental health crisis when he was shot and killed by Richmond Police Officer Michael Nyantakyi.
