Shortly after the shots were reported at around 10 p.m., two men arrived at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, both suffering from gunshot wounds.
One of these men was Kaliek Suber, who succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival at the hospital.
The second man who had been shot was treated for injuries that were described as serious but not life-threatening, and he was expected to recover.
