In the early hours of a cold Wednesday morning, on November 29, 2017, the life of 39-year-old Aaron James Richardson, a Black male from Norfolk, Virginia, was tragically cut short. Police and fire-rescue personnel, initially responding to a medical call, discovered Richardson lying outside in the 3100 block of Kitchener Avenue shortly after midnight. He was pronounced dead at the scene from what the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner would later determine to be gunshot wounds.
