On a cold winter’s day in Petersburg, Virginia, the life of a young man was tragically cut short, leaving a community in shock and a family to grapple with a sudden and violent loss. Demonta Adkins, a 21-year-old male, was found with a gunshot wound on December 29, 2018, at the Petersburg East Apartments on Croatan Drive.
