In the quiet early morning hours of February 28, 2016, a selfless act of brotherly love ended in tragedy in a Petersburg, Virginia apartment. Deshawn Shaw, a 22-year-old male, was fatally shot while shielding his younger brother from a barrage of bullets. The incident, which also left his 20-year-old brother, Dontavia Shaw, with non-life-threatening injuries, unfolded during what police believe was a robbery that went tragically wrong.
