A beloved 27-year-old man, Brandon Smith, lost his life in a burst of gunfire that erupted during a large community block party in the Holly Cove neighborhood of Chesapeake, Virginia, on the night of May 25, 2019. The event, intended to be a positive gathering aimed at curbing violence with the theme 'Guns down, hands up,' tragically became a scene of chaos and bloodshed.
