In the early morning hours of September 21, 2019, the quiet of a Norfolk, Virginia neighborhood was shattered by the sound of gunfire. When police responded to the 1800 block of Greenleaf Drive around 4:40 a.m., they discovered a grim scene. Two men, one of whom was 33-year-old Michael L. Wilkins, were found suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of first responders, both Wilkins and the other man, identified as 42-year-old Isaac L. Wells, were pronounced dead at the scene.
