In the early hours of New Year's Day 2020, a life was tragically cut short in Henrico County, just outside of Richmond, Virginia. Jayshon M. Brooks, a 24-year-old Black male, was fatally wounded in what was later described as an accidental shooting. The incident unfolded at a residence on Southbury Avenue where Brooks was living at the time.
