In the early morning hours of March 29, 2017, the life of 15-year-old Taliek K. Brown, a Black male, was tragically cut short in the Mosby Court neighborhood of Richmond, Virginia. Responding to reports of random gunfire in the 1900 block of Accommodation Street at approximately 1:21 a.m., police officers arrived to a devastating scene. Taliek and another teenager, 16-year-old Mikkaisha D. Smoot, were discovered with life-threatening gunshot wounds to the head.
