On a cold winter day in Spencer, Virginia, the life of Brandon Jermal Lucas was tragically cut short. The 29-year-old Black male was found deceased on January 26, 2020. Affectionately known as 'BJ,' Lucas had moved to Chesterfield, Virginia, in 2009, where he eventually met his fiancée.

Authorities with the Henry County Sheriff's Office discovered Lucas after responding to reports of shots fired. An investigation was launched into his death, which was ruled a homicide caused by a gunshot ...
