In the late hours of a Tuesday evening in Hampton, Virginia, a young man's life was cut short by gunfire. Nineteen-year-old Ricky Devon Brooks Jr., a male resident of Newport News, was discovered deceased inside a vehicle on May 5, 2020. The car had come to rest against a tree in the first block of Sacramento Drive, where police were dispatched following a call shortly before 10 p.m.
