In the early morning hours of July 11, 2020, the life of 29-year-old Lamar Octavious Elliott, a Black male from Suffolk, Virginia, was tragically cut short. Suffolk Police responded to a call of shots fired around 2:44 a.m. in the vicinity of the 200 block of North Broad Street and First Avenue. Upon their arrival, officers discovered a vehicle that had come to a stop against a house. Inside the car was Lamar Octavious Elliott, who was pronounced dead at the scene from a gunshot wound.
