On a Saturday morning in Newport News, Virginia, the life of 23-year-old Xavier Rashad Parker, a Black male, was tragically cut short. On September 26, 2020, at approximately 9:50 a.m., police responded to a call and discovered Parker's body near Heritage Way. He had sustained at least one gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:58 a.m.
