Eric Blackshear, a 27-year-old resident of Newport News, Virginia, tragically lost his life on August 17, 2017. On that day, Newport News Police Department responded to a call on the 7400 block of River Road following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered Eric Blackshear suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Despite efforts to save him, Blackshear succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital.
