On a Thursday evening in Newport News, Virginia, the life of 24-year-old Dequane Christopher Johnson was tragically cut short. It was shortly before 8 p.m. on November 12, 2020, when police were called to the first block of Teardrop Lane for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found Johnson suffering from gunshot wounds. He was rushed to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries, but sadly, he did not survive.
