Jaquice Nasir "Ja" Kearney, a 16-year-old from Roanoke, Virginia, tragically lost his life on April 26, 2021. Jaquice was shot near 30th Street and Salem Turnpike NW, an incident that also involved another teenage boy who survived his injuries. The shooting deeply affected the community, especially his family, who remembered him as a well-loved individual with aspirations of becoming an engineer.
