On the evening of July 9, 2021, a 40-year-old man named Calvin Raymond Byas was fatally shot outside of his Norfolk, Virginia home. The tragic event unfolded in the presence of his wife. Emergency responders were called to the 7900 block of Old Ocean View Road around 11:30 p.m. for a report of a gunshot disturbance.
