Jeffrey Swiney, a 20-year-old from North Chesterfield, Virginia, tragically lost his life on July 11, 2021, in Richmond's Fan neighborhood. Swiney was shot in the early hours of the morning near the 1900 block of West Main Street, close to the District 5 nightclub. According to reports, officers responded to a call about a person shot and found Swiney unresponsive in a business' parking lot, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
