Lewis Edward Watkins III, a 30-year-old resident of Newport News, Virginia, tragically lost his life on December 19, 2021. Watkins was found with multiple gunshot wounds outside an apartment complex located in the 1300 block of Garden Drive. Responding officers pronounced him dead at the scene. The circumstances surrounding his death prompted an immediate investigation by the Newport News Police Department.
