On a cold December evening in Norfolk, Virginia, a 56-year-old man named Kenneth Lee Parker, known affectionately as 'KP,' was found lying in the street in the 4700 block of Denver Avenue. It was around 10:15 p.m. on December 26, 2021, when police responded to a report of a man down. Upon their arrival, they discovered Mr. Parker suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds.
Despite the efforts of emergency responders, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Kenneth, a beloved husband and father, was a well-known figure in the 757 community and was often called the 'Park Place Legend.' He was remembered as a man who never met a stranger, always willing to give and leave a lasting impression on those he encountered. He had a way with words that could make your head spin, but he also possessed the art of making people laugh. He lived his life on his own terms, dancing to the beat of his own drum. His passing left a void in the hearts of his loving wife, nine children, and numerous other family members and friends.
In the wake of the shooting, an investigation was launched by the Norfolk Police Department. As a result of their investigation, detectives identified a suspect, 50-year-old Tony Williams of Norfolk. Charges of second-degree murder and use of a firearm were brought against Williams.
Following the identification of a suspect, the Norfolk Police Department reached out to the public for assistance in locating Tony Williams. Investigators asked anyone with information regarding his whereabouts to contact the Norfolk Crime Line. As of the latest available information, the case remains an active investigation, and the Norfolk Police Department continues to seek information from the community.
