In the early morning hours of February 6, 2022, the life of William A. Dungee Jr., a 26-year-old Black male from Roanoke, Virginia, was tragically cut short. Roanoke police responded to a call at approximately 1:50 a.m. about an unresponsive person in the 3300 block of Ferncliff Avenue NW. There, in the roadway, they discovered Dungee suffering from critical gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of first responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
