In the early morning hours of February 6, 2022, the life of William A. Dungee Jr., a 26-year-old Black male from Roanoke, Virginia, was tragically cut short. Roanoke police responded to a call at approximately 1:50 a.m. about an unresponsive person in the 3300 block of Ferncliff Avenue NW. There, in the roadway, they discovered Dungee suffering from critical gunshot wounds.
