On a summer evening in Roanoke, Virginia, the life of 46-year-old Black / African American male Leon Jones was tragically cut short. On June 3, 2023, Roanoke Police responded to a call in the 1600 block of Hanover Avenue NW. Upon arrival, they discovered a man, later identified as Jones, inside a residence with what appeared to be a critical gunshot wound.
