On September 23, 2024, at approximately 6:30 a.m., Roanoke County Police responded to an Advanced Life Support Critical call in the 4800 block of Pitzer Road. Upon entering the home, officers discovered two deceased adults, identified as 42-year-old Amanda Rae Robertson and 58-year-old Robert Michael Jackson, both from Roanoke County. The investigation revealed that both individuals had died from gunshot wounds, and their deaths were subsequently investigated as homicides.
