In the quiet evening of September 3, 2022, the life of 15-year-old Demarion D. Sanders, a Black / African American male, was tragically cut short in Roanoke, Virginia. Around 7:45 p.m., Roanoke Police responded to reports of shots fired in the 1000 block of Palm Avenue NW. Upon their arrival, they discovered Demarion outside a residence with a critical gunshot wound. Despite the immediate response and efforts of Roanoke Fire-EMS, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
