In the winter of 2019, a young man's life was cut short in a sudden act of violence that unfolded at a convenience store in Roanoke, Virginia. Sean De Dieu Nkurunziza, a 26-year-old male immigrant from Tanzania, was fatally shot on the evening of February 24th at the Triangle Mart on Cove Road. Nkurunziza was an off-duty employee of the establishment at the time of the incident.
