In the spring of 2022, the life of 15-year-old Tyjuan Antionio Crenshaw II was tragically cut short in Petersburg, Virginia. On the evening of April 2, 2022, officers responded to the 300 block of Crestfall Court, within an apartment complex, just after 8:30 p.m. There, they discovered Tyjuan, known to many as 'Mistro,' in a breezeway, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The sudden and violent death of the teenager left his family, friends, and the wider Petersburg community in a state of shock and profound grief. In the days that followed, a vigil was held to honor his memory, where those who knew him shared stories of a kind-hearted and sweet young boy whose unexpected passing was a heartbreaking loss. The community gathered to remember his life and make a plea for an end to gun violence.
The investigation into the death of Tyjuan Crenshaw II led to the arrests of two 16-year-old suspects. The teenagers were taken into custody without incident and faced charges of felony homicide, possession of a firearm by a minor, and attempted burglary. A third individual, Sharon Parham, was also arrested in connection with the case.
