In the East End of Richmond, Virginia, on the morning of May 22, 2022, the life of 30-year-old Shon Jordan, a Black/African American male, was tragically cut short. Just before 10 a.m., Richmond Police were called to the 2100 block of Phaup Street following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered Shon Jordan suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
He was rushed to a local hospital, but his injuries proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced dead.
The Medical Examiner later confirmed that the cause of Mr. Jordan's death was the gunshot wounds he sustained. The Richmond Police Department opened an investigation into the homicide and appealed to the public for any information that might lead to the apprehension of those responsible for this act of violence. Community members were left in shock and mourning following the incident.
