Robert William Staton, a 33-year-old resident of Rustburg, Virginia, tragically lost his life on July 5, 2022. Staton was discovered with a fatal gunshot wound in the parking lot of the First St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. The Campbell County Sheriff's Office responded to a call about a body lying at the church entrance around 1 p.m. Upon arrival, deputies found Staton with a critical gunshot wound, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
