Tamel Durant, a 17-year-old high school senior, was tragically found dead on October 19, 2022, in Richmond, Virginia. His body was discovered in a trash can on North 23rd Street, near Fairfield Court in Richmond’s East End. Tamel had moved to Richmond from Brooklyn, New York, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic to live with his father, who hoped to provide him with better opportunities.
