In the early morning hours of October 23, 2022, the lively atmosphere of the Downtown Mall in Charlottesville, Virginia, was shattered by gunfire. Davonn Jamar Wilson, a 31-year-old Black man, was tragically killed in the incident. The events that led to his death began inside a local restaurant and bar, Lucky Blue's, where an altercation broke out. As the situation escalated, Wilson attempted to flee the establishment.
