On May 21, 1998, Benjamin Allen “Ben” Walker, a 16-year-old student, tragically lost his life in the Thurston High School shooting in Springfield, Oregon. This devastating event occurred just a day after the perpetrator, Kip Kinkel, had murdered his own parents, Bill and Faith Kinkel, in their home.
