On a Wednesday evening in Springfield, Oregon, the life of 53-year-old David Paul Crofut, a Caucasian male, was cut short following a roadside confrontation. The events of January 29, 2014, began with a minor traffic accident, a simple fender-bender, that would quickly escalate into a fatal encounter. Crofut's vehicle had collided with a truck driven by Gerald Strebendt, a former professional mixed-martial arts fighter.
