Four-year-old Jayson Cottle, a young boy, was found deceased, a victim of gun violence that also claimed the lives of his mother, 39-year-old JoAnna Marie Cottle, his 13-year-old sister, Kaelyn Parson, and his four-year-old twin sister, Kinsey Cottle.
The events unfolded
shortly before 5 a.m. when JoAnna Cottle placed a call to the police to report an intruder in her home on Laurel Oak Road. When officers arrived, they were met with a horrific sight, the bodies of JoAnna and her three children. The initial report of a disturbance quickly escalated into a quadruple homicide investigation that would lead authorities across state lines.
The investigation swiftly pointed to one central figure: 35-year-old Jonah Adams of Waldorf, Maryland. Adams was identified as JoAnna Cottle's former boyfriend and, significantly, the father of the twin four-year-olds, Jayson and Kinsey. Within hours of the discovery, law enforcement located and apprehended Adams near his Maryland residence. The arrest was made by agents from the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
