Jawan Carson, a 23-year-old Black male, was fatally shot on the night of March 22, 2014, in Newark, New Jersey. The incident occurred near the intersection of 18th Avenue and Smith Street, where gunfire erupted, leaving Carson critically injured. He was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention but ultimately succumbed to his injuries the following morning.
