In the city of Camden, New Jersey, a young life was abruptly cut short on the evening of October 10, 2014. Karon P. Townsend, a 19-year-old Black male, became another victim of gun violence that has plagued the city. Around 9:30 p.m., police responded to reports of a shooting and discovered Townsend lying unresponsive on the pavement at the corner of Roberts Street and Royden Street.
