On October 15, 2023, at approximately 12:46 p.m., Camden County Police responded to a ShotSpotter activation near 7th and Bailey Streets in Camden, New Jersey. Upon arrival, officers discovered 47-year-old Jose G. Rivera suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was promptly transported to Cooper University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at approximately 12:58 p.m.
