In the autumn of 2014, a young man's life was tragically cut short on the streets of Elizabeth, New Jersey. Allens Exilus, a 20-year-old male from the neighboring town of Roselle, was fatally shot on the evening of Tuesday, October 14, 2014. The incident took place near the intersection of Cherry and West Jersey streets, marking a grim night for the city which saw another fatal shooting just half an hour earlier, though authorities stated the two events were likely unrelated.
