In the city of Camden, New Jersey, a tragic story unfolded on November 10, 2014, forever altering the lives of one family. Daniel Damon Jr., a 21-year-old Black / African American male, found his life cut short by violence on that fateful day. He was on the 700 block of Morgan Boulevard when he was fatally shot. The incident was one of two separate and unrelated deadly shootings that occurred in Camden within a few hours of each other, casting a dark shadow over the community.

to a report of a shooting, law enforcement officers arrived at the scene to find Daniel Damon, who was pronounced dead from his injuries. The sudden and violent nature of his death sent ripples of grief and shock through his family and friends. In the days that followed, those who knew and loved him gathered to mourn their loss. His funeral services were held at the May Funeral Home in Camden, with his final resting place being Harleigh Cemetery. The community was left to grapple with the senseless loss of a young life.
In the wake of the shooting, investigators worked to piece together the events that led to Daniel's death. Their efforts soon led to a breakthrough in the case with the identification of a suspect. Elliot Nock, a 31-year-old man also from Camden, was apprehended by authorities at an apartment in Long Branch, a community along the Jersey Shore. Nock was subsequently charged with the murder of Daniel Damon Jr., as well as the murder of Nelson Jackson, the victim of the other shooting that occurred on the same day. While an arrest was made, the underlying motives for the tragic shootings were not immediately made public, leaving a community searching for answers.
