On the night of May 26, 2016, in Jersey City, New Jersey, a burst of gunfire shattered the late-evening quiet near the corner of Stegman Street and Bergen Avenue. When the violence subsided, one man lay dead and another was seriously wounded. The deceased was identified as 28-year-old Tyrell Franklin, a resident of the city.
