In the pre-dawn hours of a brisk December morning, the city of Jersey City was shaken by a burst of violence that claimed the life of Rymaire Stevens, a 28-year-old man. On December 3, 2017, at approximately 12:35 a.m., police responded to reports of gunfire near Martin Luther King Drive and Warner Avenue. Upon their arrival, they found Stevens with gunshot wounds to his torso; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
