In the early morning hours of a summer Saturday in Paterson, New Jersey, the life of Kashaad James was tragically cut short. On August 6, 2016, the 20-year-old man was gunned down in a shooting that also left two other men wounded. The incident unfolded around 1:04 a.m. at the intersection of Godwin Avenue and Carroll Street.
