On the evening of December 11, 2017, a burst of gunfire shattered the night on 12th Avenue in Paterson, New Jersey, leaving a local man fatally wounded. Keyantay Deas, a 37-year-old male, was walking in the area of 327 12th Avenue at approximately 8:40 p.m. when he was ambushed. Two unidentified individuals, both armed with handguns, reportedly approached Mr. Deas and opened fire, striking him multiple times before fleeing the scene.
