In the quiet evening of June 28, 2017, the life of 29-year-old Daren Joseph, a Black male from Lauderhill, Florida, was cut short by gunfire in Trenton, New Jersey. Around 9:35 p.m., in what was considered a typically calm neighborhood on Miller Street, directly opposite Capital Health Regional Medical Center, Joseph was found lying in the street next to his idling Acura.
