In the early evening of a winter day in Pleasantville, New Jersey, the sound of gunfire shattered the calm. On December 2, 2017, just before 7 p.m., a violent encounter unfolded on the 600 block of Tilton Road. When the chaos subsided, three people had been struck by bullets. Among them was 29-year-old Josue Demosthenes, a male resident of Pleasantville.
