On the night of May 2, 2018, a sense of dread hung in the air on the 800 block of Greenwood Avenue in Trenton, New Jersey. It was around 11:35 p.m. when the life of 28-year-old Aveon Perry, a Black male, was tragically cut short in a hail of gunfire. Perry was desperately trying to reach the sanctuary of a Shell gas station, running for his life as an armed assailant gave chase. The pursuit was swift and brutal, ending when Perry was struck by multiple bullets and collapsed.
