In the early morning hours of February 10, 2019, tragedy struck the city of Atlantic City, New Jersey, with the death of Demond Tally, a 45-year-old man. Tally, a beloved youth football coach, was gunned down on Presbyterian Avenue shortly after 5:00 a.m. He had just left the home of his longtime friend, then-City Councilman Marty Small Sr., who would later become mayor.
