On June 18, 2023, at approximately 3:30 a.m., Atlantic City police responded to reports of a shooting in the 1400 block of Atlantic Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered 18-year-old Tamaj Bennett suffering from multiple gunshot wounds; he was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
