In the early morning hours of Father's Day, June 18, 2023, the life of 18-year-old Tamaj Bennett was tragically cut short in a burst of violence on an Atlantic City street. The young man, a resident of Atlantic City, was dropped off near a convenience store on the 1400 block of Atlantic Avenue shortly before 3:30 a.m. As he walked towards the store, he exchanged a brief acknowledgment with a group of males standing outside.
