On May 9, 2024, at approximately 11:02 p.m., Pleasantville Police responded to reports of gunfire at 9 West Pleasant Avenue. Inside a first-floor apartment, officers discovered 38-year-old Baseem Taliaferro, a resident of Galloway Township, with a gunshot wound to his chest; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
