On a Friday night in Atlantic City, the life of 25-year-old Dameer Smith of New York City was cut short by a single gunshot. On February 5, 2021, at approximately 9:27 p.m., police responded to reports of a shooting on the 1300 block of Pacific Avenue. Upon arrival, officers and EMS personnel found Dameer Smith on the street with a gunshot wound.
Emergency responders transported Smith to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center City Campus in an effort to save his life.
Despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead at the hospital. The cause of his death was determined to be the single gunshot wound. At the time of the initial reports, no arrests had been made in connection with the shooting.
