In the quiet afternoon of March 24, 2019, a burst of violence shattered the peace in an Irvington, New Jersey neighborhood, claiming the life of a young man with a promising future. Zaveuxn Waynick, a 20-year-old Black male, was fatally shot in the 100 block of Park Place. The incident, which occurred around 1:39 p.m., left the community in shock and mourning. Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but it was too late to save the young man, and he was pronounced dead.
